Can't Forgetta The Beretta!

In a strange turn of events, I got the weekend off from work. Next weekend, too, actually! Killer! So, today, I decided that it was time to show my old '95 Beretta some (long over-due) little tender loving care. I mean, this car was MY LIFE for the past 3 years! I had to give it a little respect. I cleaned it up, and put a new battery in it, and stuff. It's weird, the battery died within 4 or 5 days of me buying the Mustang. Like it was so hurt bad by my buying a new car that it just lost the will to live, or something. Poor thing. So yeah, I put a new battery in it today, and it started right up. The funny thing is that the heater in my Beretta works better than the one in my Mustang! I thought for a while that I'd sell my Beretta after I got my Mustang, and get a little extra dough, because there's, really, nothing wrong with the Beretta. I just got the Mustang, because I was afraid it was getting about time for my Beretta to die. And besides, I've always wanted a Mustang! Anyway, I just couldn't sell my Beretta. Extra money, or not! I think it's some kind of law that you have to keep your first car all your life, and my Beretta was the first car I ever owned. I think I may be getting it back on the road again real soon. It drove like a freakin' snow plow in winter weather. I can't see my (rear-wheel-drive) Mustang doing so good in the snow...

R.I.P., Kenny

Yesterday morning, one of my co-workers at the grocery store was killed in a car wreck, on his way home from work. I didn't get to talk to Kenny very much at work, because he worked with the night stock crew. He was usually getting off work around the time that I clocked on. When I did talk to Kenny, though, he was always laughing, and joking around, and having a good time. It's going to be weird going to work, and not seeing him there anymore, but I'm sure he's in a better place now. We'll miss ya, Kenny! Thanks for the memories!

Christmas Shopping

Are you done with you Christmas shopping yet? Me neither! Man... I don't know what to buy these people! That should be a law. If you don't know what to get for someone, you shouldn't be required to buy anything! Think that'll catch on? Umm... Maybe not... So, I've got this list of all these people that I have to buy things for. There's, like, 10 names on the list, and I've bought a total of 2 presents. Heh heh. I don't know, man. Seems like it gets a little more insane every year.

I've Got A New Complaint!

I've come to the conclusion that my computer is retarded. I've had all sorts of problems out of it in the year that I've had it. But most recently, a couple months ago, my DVD burner quit working (but, however, my CD burner worked great). Well, I got that lined out. Kinda. I fixed the DVD burner, but ever since then my CD burner hasn't been working! You may be thinking, "Well, Junebug, why don't you just burn CDs with your DVD burner?" The answer is simple. It just doesn't work like that! It's handy, and all, having a DVD burner, but why can't I have both?! If I had a choice in the matter, I'd pick the CD burner over the DVD burner, because I record 10 times more CDs than I do DVDs.

29

Hey, happy birthday to me! Heh heh. It was a nice birthday. Best one I've had for a while, I guess. I got some good presents, which is always fun. The coolest present EVER was the Nirvana box set, "With The Lights Out."

Every few years, my birthday falls on Thanksgiving. Every leap year, I think. This was one of those few years. So, I got turkey and cake (and Nirvana!). Thanksgiving? Yes, I'm very thankful, thank you. Hope everyone reading this had a great Thanksgiving, too.

Is Thanksgiving Over Yet?!

Man! It gets worse every year! Thanksgiving, that is. This is my third, and hopefully FINAL Thanksgiving at the grocery store. It's insanity! (Heh heh. "Stop the insanity!") I have to weigh turkeys and hams all day long, every day, for the entire 2 week period before Thanksgiving every year. I'll work for, like, a minute, and someone (a customer-type-person) comes along, and says, "Excuse me, sir. Could you get me a 22-pound Butterball?" Or, a 47-pound one, or whatever. So, I have to stop what I'm doing, and find "the perfect turkey" for these persons. Then, go back to work, only to get stopped by another customer. Oh, and this year, just to mix things up a bit, I've been having to go to work at 1am, and stay until 10am (as opposed to my normal 6am-3pm shift). It's better, in a way, in that there aren't any customers to deal with at those hours, but still, I NEED SOME SLEEP!!! So, yeah, they've finally broken me. I HATE working at the grocery store, nowadays. So much so that I'm actually going to go back to college in January (maybe...), and try to find a better job (which is like looking for a needle in a haystack, because there's not any jobs in this crappy little town... Or, anywhere else, actually, thanks to Bush! ~*The Bush Bashing continues! Horray!*~).

Well Then...

That awesome web publishing program came in, Friday. Turns out it's not so awesome, after all! About the only thing it's good for is creating banners for your web site. So, seeing as how I don't do a lot of banners, I found an alternative. I downloaded Netscape Navigator... I've always hated Netscape, but now I have a new appreciation for this browser, because my java-thing is working again, thanks to Netscape. Now, I can update the Cruel Music site again! Woo hoo!!! I can also start playing around with some new designs for Version 7 of the site, which will debut in February. So, all is right with the world again! Well, as right as it can get, I suppose, with Bush being in office, and all... When it doubt, blame it on the Republicans!

Help Is On The Way!

Hey, hey! I did it! I found a web-publishing program on Ebay, last night! So, in 4-6 weeks, I'll be back in action with some new & improved Cruel Music pages! That is, if the guy (the one selling this program) doesn't decide to rip me off. That seems to be the current trend of Ebay, sadly. For every 10 things I order, at least one of the things I've won in an auction never makes it to me. There's not a lot that can be done about it, either. You can report fraud to Ebay, but they don't do a thing about it. Cool, huh?

More Web Page Fun

I don't know if you know anything about web publishing, but I don't... Not really... I mean, I know enough to know that I don't know how to read / write html codes all that good. I'm dependent on programs, such as Geocities' "Page Builder." Every incarnation of the Cruel Music web site has been created with "Page Builder." From the very first version, in February 1999, right up through Version 6, that you see now. The thing is, "Page Builder" requires Java software to run. Without Java, "Page Builder" does nothing. And, that's my current situation. I have Java on my computer, but it's dead, or something... Anyway, February has become the time of year to change the entire layout of the site, since it was born in Febraury 1999. February 2005 will be the time to unvail Cruel Music Version 7. But, without Java, and without the help of "Page Builder," the Cruel Music site that you know and love will look pretty dull. I've tried every possible way to bring Java back to life on my computer. I've downloaded the latest version of it, the old version of it, EVERYTHING, MAN! So, the time has come, boys and girls, to find a new alternative. I'd rather stay with Geocities, because, like I said before, they run a neat little show there. So, changing servers is not an option. I think I'll look around on Ebay for some web publishing tools. Wish me luck! Well, you know, if you want to, I guess...

Note:

I mean, don't get me wrong. I've been with Geocities since, golly, like, 1997, and they've been really gracious to me, providing all the web space I need to present my Cruel Music crap. And, it's free! Can I REALLY complain, since it's free?! Well, yeah! They're not all that helpful when there's a problem with your web site. Like I said, I've had the Cruel Music web site up since 1997. Now, all of a sudden, I can't even update the thing anymore, because my computer is retarded, and it forgot how to read Java-related software, and Geocities won't even try to help me firgure out what the poop is going on.

Fun With Java

Ya know... I just got another one of those automated replies from Geocities. This time they're saying that I should check my firewall, and the firewall included in Windows Service Pack 2... I'VE TRIED THAT, YOU BIG DORKS!!! IT'S NOT HELPING!!! MY COMPUTER STILL WON'T LET ME USE MY JAVA-THING!!! Yes, I've disabled my firewall... No, the java-thing will not work... It'd be nice to get some REAL help on this matter... I don't know, man...

Complaints

Why is it that nothing seems to work out for me?! Examples: #1 I STILL can't update my website... http://geocities.com/trumpy303 Cruel Music, ya know? Stupid java thing still won't work! #2 Geocities won't help me figure out why my java thing won't work! They have this FAQ page, designed to help folks out with their problems. They have a list of problems and solutions. Then, at the bottom, it says something like, "If you've tried all of these steps, and you're still having problems, email us." So, I emailed them. I told them that my java thing is dead. What did they do? They replied by sending me a (automated, by the way) copy of their FAQ page! "Gee, I already tried that crap, you freaks! I need help, see?!" At the bottom of this email, it said, "If you're still having problems, reply to this email, and we will do everything we can to help you." Yeah, whatever... #3 I bought that new car, remember? My Mustang... Well, it's already been bumped by shopping carts and car doors, making the driver's side of the car look like it's been used for some sort of Taliban target practice course, or something. And, I've not even had it for 2 weeks yet!!! #4 My Mustang is fun to look at, and all, but it only gets, like, 10 miles per gallon on gas. And, since gas is, what, $2.95 a gallon now, that's a little expensive! #5 I bought that VHS to DVD converter thing, hoping to transfer all my old videos to DVD. Well, it didn't even work! You could only record an hour and twelve minutes of video to a DVD. Not many movies last an hour! So, I took it back, and got a refund! Now, I'm working on some alternative tricks to convert my VHS tapes to DVD... And, since nothing seems to work out for me, it's not very likely that this is going to work, either! I blame Bush, and Republicans in general...

We Could Always Flee For Canada...

I'm not what you'd call a political person, but, GAWD, I wish that idiot, Bush, would've lost the election! My pet rock could do a better job of running this country than he can! Times were bad enough before. Just imagine what it's going to be like with 4 more years of him in the White House. Gas will be $4 a gallon, milk will be $8, a loaf of bread will be $5... Oh well, the rich get richer, I guess... I'm M.C. Snot Rag, and I approved this message.

VHS to DVD becomes a reality!

I just can't seem to quit spending money, lately. Last night, I bought a nifty little device to convert my VHS tapes over to DVD. I didn't have to work today, so I played with the device-thing most of the day. It's giving me some problems. So far, I've only been able to record about an hour's-worth of stuff on one DVD. That's a bit of a bummer. Most movies tend to last longer than an hour... I'm sure I'll find a way around this problem (did I say "problems" earlier? It's actually just this one problem... But, it occurred on a number of occassions, so maybe it could be difined as PROBLEMS... Hmmm... Interesting...). But, even if I don't figure out how to record for longer periods of time, it'll still be handy for putting some Cruel Music stuff out on DVD!

Mustang Sally!

Hey, hey! I bought myself a nice, white, 2004 Ford Mustang, today! Am I REALLY that rich? Well... No... But, I've always wanted a Mustang, and now, by golly, I've got one!!! Good thing I don't have a life. Or else, I'd never be able to afford the payments and insurance.

Are Mullets "In" Yet?

I did it! I chopped off the sides of my hair last night. A couple years ago, my hair was all one length, and it looked all slinkster, and stuff. But, things have changed. Seeing as how my hair is so thin on top, it's always breaking off. So, all through 2004, I've had this weird mullet-hybrid-thing. It was short on top, and long everywhere else. It was starting to look bushy, and funky, so I cut the sides off. I now have a full-scale mullet! Just like I did in 1990! But, the thing is, I don't think mullets are cool anymore... Heh heh. But, it looks better than what I've had for the last 10 months. Hopefully, my "Propecia Hair" will grow, and I can get back to having cool hair again.

Goodbye, Dolly

My dad's 'coon dog, Dolly, was murdered this morning -- Hit by a car, after a hard night of hunting. She was a good dog; one of the best hunting dogs that Dad has ever had. She was kinda goofy, though. She used to bark every time there was a storm, etc... She made many appearances on "WDN TV." When asked to comment on his loss, "Angry" Tom said, "Every time a good dog gets close to the road they always get killed, but stray dogs can live on the road, and not get hit." Dolly was 6 years old, and resided with us, in our yard, for the last 3 years.

Comments On Baldness

I've been losing my hair, very gradual-like, since the age of 16. Umm... That was in 1991. When I was 18, I started using Rogaine, and my hair wasn't all that bad, for the next few years. Just a little bald spot in the back of my head. Something weird happened around this time last year, October 2003. My hair started falling out really fast. By January 2004, I'd lost, pretty much, every bit of the hair on top of my head. As I said before, I don't really want to part with my hair, so I started looking into to some alternatives to Rogaine. I went to a dermantologist, and got some Propecia. I still had a couple months-worth of Rogaine left, so I used it AND Propecia, together, for a while. April 2004: I had a good supply of new hair on my head. Actually, ALL of my scalp was covered up with hair, except for a little in the front. Nothing a little "comb-over" couldn't solve. So, I went with that look for a while. But, I noticed that my hair stopped growing in April. It didn't get any thicker, like it was in 2002, or whenever... THEN, in August 2004, all of my hair fell out again! What gives, huh?! So, after giving the matter some thought, it hit me: I quit using Rogaine in April, just at the time that my hair stopped getting thicker, and it started getting thinner. So, toward the end of August, I started combining my Propecia with Rogaine again. Right now, this minute, on October 13, I have a good amount of hair again. Not as thick as it was in April yet, but it's almost there. So, that's pretty cool! So, for anyone looking for the secrets to not going bald, Rogaine, alone, does not work. Propecia, alone, does not work. But, use both of them at the same time, and you'll see a huge difference! ~*Thank you, MC Snot Rag!*~ You're welcome.

And... One more thing, to answer your question before you ask: "Aren't there some weird side effects to Propecia?" Well, maybe for some people, but not for me. I've not noticed any side effects at all in the 10 months I've used Propecia. If anything, it'd be acne... I can't swear to it, of course... I mean, I've had zits for most of my life, but I have A LOTright now. It may be related to Propecia, it may not. I don't know...

Off Today!

Hey, kids! It's my one, and only, day off for the week. I only get a day off one day EVERY week, so that's nothing unusual, I guess. It'd be nice if I'd spend the day being productive, or something... But, I'm going to buy "The Day After Tomorrow," and just, pretty much, be a hermit today. That's how I usually spend my time, by the way. I just stay home, and sleep most of the time.

I'm kinda mad. I had to erase my computer's hard drive last week, because it was being over-run with spyware, and all that other nonsense. Computer viruses... Isn't that, like, the stupidest thing you've ever heard of?! I can't figure out what those hacker-type-people get out of sending viruses / spam / spyware / adware / etc... I mean, it's not like they're going to see the effects of their pranks! I don't get it! It's like prank calling a pizza parlor, and getting a pizza delivered to someone, as a joke. The prankster isn't going to be around to see the expression on the guy's face, or anything! Why bother?! So, yeah... My computer... Since I re-installed everything, it's been working great. But, my problem is my java-thingy is all screwed up now. I can't update my web site, because my computer won't allow java, or something... I don't know! But, that's why my blog can't be a part of my web site, too. I tried updating my java client, but they've got so many options on the java stie that I don't even know where to begin. So, I'll probably just sit around, and fiddle with my computer all day.

There Goes Joyce Gail!!!

Joyce Gail just rode her bike down the road. Have you seen her lately, by any chance? She shaved her head a couple months ago! Now, she's got this weird, Shenade O'Conner, boy's hair cut, thing going... Too funny!

Things to think about

Still exploring the world of Blogger. I just posted my picture. I should REALLY get some new pictures up on my site. The one I stuck on my profile was from Feb. 2001. GAWD!!! I don't even look like that anymore! I mean, that was back in my pre-Kmart, pre-weight loss, pre-balding days! I used to like that picture. Now when I see it, I giggle. I weigh 180 now, as opposed to the 230 you see in this picture. I had a lot of hair in this picture, and now I don't. Heh heh. I'm not, like, Hulk Hogan bald, or anything, but it's getting pretty thin up there. And, since I started working at the grocery store (7-17-02), I've been keeping my hair cut shorter. I've had long hair since 1989, so it's not really something that I'm willing to part with. If you want to see a newer picture of me, I think I can arrange that. I'm just a little lazy lately... But, yeah, my poor web site! I hardly ever play with it anymore! Cruel Music has, pretty much, been on hiatus for the last couple years, so I guess the web site has been, too. Pretty much...

So, I've been threatening to buy a 4-track recorder for the last 10 years. I think I'll get one soon, though. I've been writing some neat songs over the last couple years. I have to record this stuff! Don't know if these songs will have drums with them, or not, though. Last time I looked at my drum set, it looked a little sick. My hi-hat is broken in two, and stuff... I'm not a drummer. I can play if I have to, but guitar is what it's all about. I bought a eukelele, last month. Maybe I'll do some weird music, like The Toxic Pilgrims album... I wonder where Dave is (he was the other Toxic Pilgrim)? I've not heard from him forever! Actually, I think he wrote me last. Oops! My pen pal'ing has been suffering lately, too. Man... What's wrong with me?! I should send a big, mass e-mail out to all the people I've not written to for months, and tell them about my blog thingy. Now, THERE'S something to think about!

I'm A Blogger!

Hey. My name is Junebug. I'm posting my very first blog right now (Wooo Hoooo)! I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, actually. I'm practicing / learning. I noticed that Tom Green's web site was back up, about a month ago. I saw a funny word, "Blog." I didn't know what it was. Now I see! Now I want one! Now I've got one! A friend of mine had one of these a while back. It wasn't with Blogger... Something else... I don't use that computer anymore (my old Acer, which was equipped with her bookmark), and I don't know the address, or anything, so I don't know if she still posts there, or not... Am I rambling? Well... I'm practicing, actually. I should post this, and see what it looks like, huh? I wonder if it'll actually be a part of my web site, like Tom Green's? I hope so, because that looks nifty!
