3 Santas Press Release

Keeping with the Cruel Music Christmas Karaoke tradition, which started way back in 1993, 3 Santas released their fourth karaoke album on December 23. The album is a departure from the band's previous three releases. It does not feature any Christmas songs. Though this may come as a surprise to their fans, the band did not have any other choice, because they have covered every Christmas song known to man. The thirteen songs featured on their new album, "Karaoke For The Masses," is the result of a poll from this very website a few months ago called "What songs would you like 3 Santas to record?" Strangely enough, there were a lot of votes for Elvis songs. Keep an eye on your mailbox, because the new 3 Santas album will be shipping this week.

All Is Calm, All Is Bright

I've not been getting online much these days. It's not just a lack of posting on the blog. I've been busy being a daddy, and doing daddy things. Don't be fooled, though. I've been recording music. Yeah, actual, real music! Here's the lo-down:
Newly released, as of 11-28-10 - "The Life And Times Of Junebugg Fewget."
Coming very soon - 3 Santas' fourth album (No title as of yet).
Hopefully before the end of the year - New WDN stuff.
Early 2011 - New Ultrapoop.
I've been juggling three or four projects at a time for the better part of the year.

Hey, while I'm thinking about it, hello to all of our friends in Russia and Greece. HELLO, RUSSIA! HELLO, GREECE! Yeah, seriously. Turns out the Cruel Music has a fan base over there. Who would've thunk it?! It's true, though. My blogspot.com dashboard stats thingy told me so a couple weeks ago.

Signs Of Life

I've been tied up with learning how to be a daddy these last few months. But, Cruel Music's vacation is finally over. I've actually been recording new stuff! The Coffee Quarters' debut album, "2012" was released to the masses a couple days ago. If you haven't heard it yet, you should. It just might save your life! The Coffee Quarters was formed in 1994, and it took them 16 years to record anything. The band is confident that after that little ice-breaker that it will record stuff on a more regular basis now. Also in the works for Cruel Music are new albums by Junebugg Fewget, Ultrapoop, the ever-present WDN, and 3 Santas (hey, we're well into the "ber" months now, so it's time to start getting ready for Christmas!). Watch this space...

The rules: Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen albums you've heard that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes. Tag fifteen friends, including me, because I'm interested in seeing what albums my friends choose. (To do this, go to your Notes tab on your profile page, paste rules in a new note, cast your fifteen picks, and tag people in the note--upper righthand side.)

1. Nirvana "Nevermind"
2. Guns N' Roses "Appetite For Destruction"
3. Metallica "Metallica"

Dayton Trip 2010

Day One (Saturday, September 18, 2010)

We were planning on leaving around 12:00, but we were late, as usual. I think it was around 3:30 or 4 when we finally left Chatty. I wanted to take (the more scenic) Route 23, so I could take Denise and Brandon to see Yatesville Lake, near Louisa, KY, for their first time. After our 30-minute break we got back on 23, and were really close to Ashland, KY (our "halfway there marker") when, all of a sudden, a huge car wreck detoured us. We had to turn around, and go all the way back to Fort Gay, and go down Route 52 on the West Virginia side of the river... Delaying us for about an hour and a half! After putting a fussy baby to sleep, and changing four or five dirty diapers, and eating we made it to Dayton at about 11:45. We could have made it halfway to Alaska in that time!

Day Two

We bought this nifty little portable broadband modem for our new laptop (which we bought on September 15) at Radio Shack. Then, we went to Jack's Pet Shop. Brandon was scared to death of the cats and dogs there, but he loved the fish. We had to go to the next-door Walmart to buy a few things, and looked at some more fish in there (I'm planning on buying a big fish tank as soon as possible. I miss having fish!). We topped off the evening with a romantic dinner at Big Boy (Man, them hot fudge cakes is tasty!).

Day Three

We went to the HUGE Fairfield Commons Mall. We bought a few outfits for Brandon, went in a pet shop called "Fetch," looked at the funny stuff in Spencer's Gifts, and went to a cool hippy-trippy shop called "Nirvana." Then, we went back to our ever-present Walmart.

Day Four

Quiet day. We just sat around and took it easy, for the most part. We went to a park near Denise's mom's house. Brandon loves swings! And later on this day, September 21, Brandon learned how to crawl!

Day Five

We went to the Newport Aquarium in Newport, KY (right across the river from Cincinnati, OH). As much as Brandon loves swinging, he loves fishes even more! He kept slapping the tanks, and saying, "Fishes, fishes, fishes!" Afterward, we went in some little Newport shops. I got tons of candy in the candy shop, and one of the best ice cream cones I've ever had in my life at Cold Stone Creamery. OREO OVERLOAD!!! The drive back to Dayton was a pain! Rush hour...

George Jones Lookalike

So, there's this guy that comes in the store all the time who looks EXACTLY like George Jones...

New Poopie

Is there a difference between the word 'bestfriend' and 'friend'?

Yeah. One has "best" in front of it, and the other one doesn't.

Can you touch your toes?

When I feel toey, I do.

Do you take walks often?

Not often enough.

Is silence really golden?I've never seen it; I couldn't tell you.

Are you afraid to grow up?

Yes.

Who were you with last night?

Hey pal, you didn't see a thing!

Can you count past 100?

No, but I can say the alphabet up to "Q," and then I get stuck.

What language do you want to learn?

Whatever language that is that all of these foreign people call English. Maybe then I can understand them. Seriously, I saw this woman at the store today that is a doctor, and I know for a fact that she has lived here for at least 30 years, because I saw her at the hospital when I was little, and she STILL can't speak English!

Any upcoming vacations?

Yeah, we're getting ready to go to Vacationville in a few weeks.

Do you care what people think of you?

Maybe when I was, like, two.

Would you call yourself smart?

Yes. I'm a genius. I've forgotten more than most people will ever learn in a lifetime.

Do you like to read?

I'm illiterate.

Plans for tomorrow?

Remember that old 60's song "Sha Nah Nah You've Got To Live For Today?"

Other than that?

Excuse Me?

Have you lost or forgotten a friends phone number?

Both. I lost it, and then I forgot where I lost it.

Have you been to most of your friends houses?

No. They smell kinda weird.

Do you like our President?

I guess he's about as good a puppet as anyone.

Do you enjoy drama ? No, I prefer horror or comedy.

Brandon's River Dance Audition Tape

August 10, 3:12am

It shouldn't come as a surprise, but Brandon is still staying up till 4:00 every night / morning. He took a nap at 1am, like he does every night. He usually sleeps for 30 minutes, and wakes up. Tonight he slept longer. We got all excited, and thought that he was going to actually sleep the whole night this time, but he woke up at 2.

Today would have been my uncle "March"'s 73rd birthday. That's hard to imagine... He died when he was 62 years and 6 months old. My dad is 62 years and 11 months old. He's older than "March" now. That's hard to imagine, too... My dad has out-lived his brother... Barely.

"Live" picture of Brandon...

What he's thinking: "Ha, ha! I'm going to keep you guys up till 6:00 this time!"

Stuff

I think it's high time for an update, don't you? I'm still adjusting to my new life. I think I'm finally getting the hang of it now. For the longest time I was trying to figure out how to have "me time." I kept getting further and further behind on my little projects, and would still be bringing in new projects. After months of pondering, I've come to the conclusion that there is no "me time" anymore. It's all work, and all baby. The only way I can see that I'll ever have "me time" again is to eliminate work. The only way I'm going to be able to do that is to win the lottery, and that doesn't seem very likely since I rarely even play the lottery. So it looks like my music projects are just going to have to be left unfinished for a while. I hate going on hiatus. I was doing such a good job kicking out monthly Cruel Music CDs. It's going to be hard to get back in the swing of things now. Oh well...

Umm... I'm on a diet, I think. I've been 180 pounds for the last 7 years or so. With my lack of exercising, and my increase in chocolates I've found myself weighing 185 pounds all of a sudden. My nice, toned up belly is getting extremely flabby. Exercise is another thing that I need to figure into my ridiculous schedule.

Dad has not been doing so good. He sits around and cries a lot, and he hardly ever goes anywhere. I think Brandon is helping him. He does seem to be showing some signs of improvement. Now, if we could only get him to see a better doctor... He's about to have another stroke, but his doctor is retarded and can't see it.

Brandon... For the last couple months he's been keeping us up all night. He'd fight sleep as hard as he could, and wouldn't go to sleep until 4am every morning. For the last few nights he's been going to sleep at 2am. And, last night he fell asleep at 1am! I think we're finally getting him under control! Woo hoo! I got a full 8 hours of sleep for the first time in about five months last night!

Saw any good movies lately? That's another thing we haven't had time for. We managed to watch "Hot Tub Time Machine" last week. That was funny. I'm a big sucker for time travel, so when you mix comedy in with it, then I'm there, Dude!

Stone Temple Pilots' new CD comes out tomorrow. I'm really excited about that. It's been such a long time since any good rock music has come along.

My good friend of almost 19 years, Scruffy, is getting close to the end of her road. She's got tumors popping up all over her body, she's got arthritis in her hips, and now one of her front arms(?) is dislocated. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, which is weird. She's acting about like she always has. But, we're going to have to get her put to sleep in the next couple weeks. She's not in pain right now, but she will be soon, and I don't want her to go through that.

But anyway, if I've been out of touch lately I hope this clears things up a little. I can kinda see the light at the end of the tunnel, so it shouldn't be much longer. But I'm serious, all I do is work, eat, change a few diapers here and there, and sleep. I'm really tired of it. Does anyone know of any good work-at-home programs that actually work?

Alice In Chains - Follow Up

I guess they really did like the audience...

April 19, 2010

Hello!Mike, again, filling in for the "travelin" Baldy and I am here in the wonderful city of Huntington, West Virginia. I have been touring the world now for 22 years and was just trying to remember if I have ever been to the state of West Virginia. I mean surely I have been here before and I was racking my brain trying to scrape some sort of memory out. But I think all of the years of giving myself shaken baby syndrome every set has taken its toll. Not to mention the "extra stuff" from the early days... heh. So, anyway, I didn't have any idea what tonight was going to bring us. There have been concerts that stick out in my memory over the years. Some huge and some small. The ones that always "pop" for me are the ones where the audience is really lively and the energy level is high. We just played in Warsaw, Poland, and Prague CZ and I'll never forget the walls literally dripping with sweat. Those are the shows that we tend to throw a couple of more songs into the set at the end. I'd like to think it's sort of a bonus for you guys giving us that extra boost but the truth is, it's TOTALLY something we do just for US! It's selfish and self centered but god damn if we still don't think that sharing that feeling, with an audience that's really bringin' it, is the coolest feeling in the world. It's addicting in a way and after all this time, it warms my heart that we still get a pump outta playing our music for you. I'd be the first guy on a plane home if I ever thought that we were just going through the motions and not enjoying this. That is the most special part of our new journey for me. Traveling around the world with my best friends and still laughing and sharing our time on this planet. It's been a testament to our friendship that we still want to "make racket" for you guys. And against all odds, the good still far outweighs the negatives and I'm tellin' ya straight up, that the fans are at the center of it for us. Which brings me to Huntington, West Virginia... Only one term keeps popping up for me… HOLY ****!!! I never knew West Virginians were so crazy! It was by far one of the best crowds we have played in front of for years! No joke, I was simply blown away tonite. Nice work West VA. And thank you to the pretty girl in the front for showing me the underside of your shirt for the whole time. I'm not sure why you were doing that but... umm... the view from where I was standing was phenomenal!! Haha.

Thanks again,
Mike Inez

Alice In Chains!!!

Hey there! Just got back from my 8th concert, Alice In Chains! Good times... The opening act was a bit of a surprise: Shooter Jennings(?!). I was expecting country or some sort of rock-a-billy stuff, but he (and his band) played hippy, trippy, psychedelic rock. I kinda liked it! I think I'm going to get their new CD, and try it on for size. They only played about four songs... Five at the most, and then curtains fell. A few minutes later the heart from "Black Gives Way To Blue" appeared on the curtain, and a few minutes after that it started "beating." Jerry Cantrell's shadow was the next thing to appear on the curtain, and he went into the opening riff of "All Secrets Known." Mike Inez's shadow came next, then Sean Kinney's, and then William Duvall was last. I didn't think it'd ever happen, but, after the first verse of the song, the curtain finally dropped. "It Ain't Like That" was the second song. There were a couple "Hello West Virginia"s from the band, and then one of my favorite songs, "Again," kicked in. There was some more audience interaction, and then "Check My Brain." Right around this time I noticed a lot of moshing going on down on the floor. I've never been to a concert that had moshing. This audience was lively. There was even some crowd surfing later on, which continued throughout the night. Jerry Cantrell noticed it, too. He said that "This is the best audience of the whole tour." "Them Bones," and two more of my favorites, "Dam That River" and "Rain When I Die." A roadie brought out an acoustic guitar on a stand, and William went over to it for "Your Decision." Next came "Got Me Wrong," "We Die Young," and "A Looking In View." Next, William said, "This is a song that, up until a couple nights ago, we haven't played live:" "Rotten Apple." Very cool! "Sickman," and "Grind," another one of my favorites! Jerry said, "This is a song that we haven't played for a while," "Heaven Beside You." This is the part of the show where I started looking around the audience, and seeing all the guys dancing with their girls. It made me miss Baby Girl more than ever! Then "Angry Chair," and "Man In The Box" closed out the first half of the show. The band took about a five-minute break, and came back out for an encore. William said something along the lines of "Thank you, West Virginia. We're really glad to see you. Since we appreciate you so much we're going to play a seven-minute-mellow-jam that we don't normally play for everyone else. This is called 'Acid Bubble.'" After the song Jerry said, "We've got to get back here again -- that's for sure!" Next was "Would?" and then the final song of the night was "Rooster." I can mark that off my bucket list now. I've seen Alice In Chains in concert!

Hey

How are you? I'm adjusting... Life is not the same without my mom in it with me... We've got the baby, though, and he's keeping me strong. I've still got that new dad smell! It's kinda hard sacrificing my sleep, but it's worth it. The baby is good. Denise is good. Life is good.

Dad is having a really hard time, but he's doing okay. Today is their anniversary. They would have been married 38 years today... I was buying that 32 inch flat screen TV this time last year. A lot has happened in a year...

I know what happened. Our house fire has been "under investigation" for 11 months, and they, supposedly, still don't have a cause for the explosion. But, I know. On the night of April 2, 2009 a wormhole opened up above our house. The force of the wormhole opening so close to physical objects caused an explosion, and simultaneously pulled me and Denise into an alternate universe. This universe isn't all that different from the one that we came from, but there are little differences here and there. For example, our neighbors are totally different. In our world our neighbors were rich, stuck-up, snobby, and constantly arguing amongst themselves. In this world they are loving and caring, and they adore us. In our world my mom was cancer free. In this world the cancer went to her brain and killed her. In our world we'd been trying to have a baby for a few months. In this world we got Brandon the first time we tried. And, I'm pretty sure our house is still standing in our world. It's just speculation, but I think the wormhole closed there as it pulled me and Denise through it, which spared the house from that horrible fire. I assume it got some structural damage, but nothing major. In this world we're still homeless, after 11 months! The economy wasn't all screwed up over there, either. We had $4 a gallon gas, but we had a good health care system... I'm on a quest of figuring out how to get back there. We'll take Brandon with us, of course. No offense... Your world is okay and all, but we don't belong here. Our world was a better place.

Perhaps A Survey?

Do you want to kiss someone specific right now?
Yes. Her name is Denise.

What is your opinion of school exactly?
It was a huge waste of time, and didn't help me accomplish anything in "the real world." And, the bullies there scarred me for life. So, yeah, I wasn't a big fan of school. College was fun, but also a waste of time.

Have you ever been stalked by anyone?
Yeah. Heh heh. It's kinda strange, and creepy... I guess that's why it's called stalking, though, huh?

What would happen if your best friend(s) dropped you?
I would probably cry for a bit, and be like, "Dude, why did you drop me like that?! Pick me back up!"

What are you having for dinner?
Turkey burgers. Good eatin.'

Do you know someone who is always hungry?
Not at the moment. Ask me again in about 4 weeks.

What do you think of scarves?
It's an irritating skin condition that is embarassing for some, but can be treated with creams such as Dermisil.

What about Ed Hardy?
Who the blue frig is Ed Hardy?! What about him?! What are you getting at?!

Can you count in spanish?
Si, Señor .

Are you comfortable walking down hallways full of people?
I've never been in such a hallway, but I don't see why I wouldn't be comfortable... Unless, like, the walls are caving in around us, or something stupid like that.

Have you bought new clothes lately?
Is April "lately?"

Who did you yell at yesterday and why?
My dad. He was being a butt with my mom.

What ad is on this page?
Something about diarrhea and crackers.

What is playing on your tv right now?
David Letterman.

What color are your nails?
The clear color.

If you could go on vacation for the next month to anywhere in the world with an unlimited budget, where would you go?
A place where Chevettes are still popular.

Did you forget anything today?
Like, every five minutes. I kid you not.

How often do you ignore the phone ringing?
Pretty much every time it rings. It's never for me anyway, so why bother answering it?!

Should you be planning for anyone's birthday?
Heh. Jonathan's.

Could you go a whole year without cursing?
Frig no! I probably could if I applied myself to do so, but I've never had the urge to fill out such an application.

What was the last compliment you received?
This dude at Dairy Queen said that I had nice shoulders, the other day.

What's your favorite thing to do when you're bored?
Brush my teeth.

Are all of your friends virgins?
Probably. They're weird...

What're you wearing right now?
Do you really want to know?

Do you want to see somebody right now?
The Sandman (I'm sleepy...).

When did you last check your phone?
I don't think I've ever checked a phone in my life. Is one *SUPPOSED* to check a phone? For what, like, to see if it's it's still breathing? I don't get it...

Do you have a camera?
Boy, do I ever!

Without saying names, whats one thing about the last person you kissed?
I love her more than life itself.

Don't tell me lies, have you been under the influence in the past 24 hours?
"Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies..."

Who was the last person you physically hit?
I don't know, but I'm going to be hitting my dad pretty soon, if he don't quit acting like a monkey.

Do you think things will change in the next few months?
Things always change. Constantly. Forever.

Who was the last person you hugged other than family?
Probably Lou at work. She's a sweet old lady.

Last person you kissed on the lips said that you were the only one they wanted, would you believe them?
Ooooooo!!! Kissing on the *LIPS?!* Wow, that's serious!

Is there a girl that knows everything or almost everything about you?
Yeah, she's my soulmate.

Have you cried this past week?
Came close, but didn't.

Have you told anybody you loved them today and meant it?
So much.

Has the last person you kissed ever hurt you?
No, she's my soulmate.

Say your last ex walks up to you and hugs you, what do you say?
Beat her with a stick, and tell her to go away.

What does your twentieth text say?
It says, "I don't exist."

What does your last sent text say?
It says, "I don't have a texting machine.

Where is the person who has your heart at the moment?
She's laying across my back. I'm her couch.

Something you really want right now?
Sleeps. Lots of sleeps.

Do you think anyone has feelings for you?
My soulmate.

What is your favorite thing about being sick?
Nothing.

How many people can you trust with just about everything?
I can't count that low.

Do you think two people can last forever?
It's according to who the two people are. If they're not soul mates, then forget it.

Would it be weird if the last person you kissed called you?
Yeah, because she's sitting right here beside me. I'd be all like, "Dude, you're calling and you're sitting right here beside me!" And she'd be all like, "I know, Homey! Isn't that outrageous?!" And I'd be all like, "Totally!"

Will you regret your next kiss?
No. I brushed my teeth.

If you had to choose between a million bucks or to be able to fly what would it be?
The flying thing, hands down. A million bucks would only last so long, and then it'd be gone. You could fly forever once you learn how, and it'd never go away. Know what I'm sayin'?

Is there someone who continuously lets you down?
I tend to not allow people like that into my life anymore.

Is the person you last texted single?
Man, again with this "texting" thing! Am I the only person in the world who doesn't have a cell phone?! Am I the only person in the world with no desire to ever get one?!

do u miss an ex right now?
Like, throwing stuff at her? Throwing apples and things, and then missing, as in not hitting her with them? No. I'm not throwing anything at the moment.

do u think an ex still has feelings for u?
I think she finally got the point, and gave up.

Is It January Already?

Umm... Happy New Year, I suppose. Sorry about the lack of activity. I have a good excuse...

Mom took a turn for the worse during the power outage (which ended up lasting, like, 5 or 6 days). She kept sleeping, and wouldn't wake up. An ambulance took her to the hospital, where we learned that she was bleeding on her brain. A few days later, it was determined that she has at least three tumors on her brain. The doctors said that there was nothing that they could do for her, and that she would die in 2 days to 2 weeks. All of this lovely news came right before Christmas, mind you, so it was not a good Christmas for us. She drifted in and out of this world for a few days, complete with angel sightings, and "the light." Her brain "forgot" how to let her swallow. She went for about a week without eating or drinking anything. She didn't know anyone. Then, on Christmas Day, I believe, as if someone turned on a switch, the bleeding on her brain stopped. She could swallow again, and was starting to stay awake more. We got our Christmas miracle. She hated the hospital, once she finally realized what was going on, and kept begging us to bring her home. The doctors finally agreed, and let her come home on New Year's Eve. She has been slowly improving ever since, much to the surprise of her doctors. Thanks for all the prayers! But, we still need more... Mom can eat good now. She can sit up on the edge of her bed without anyone holding her. She knows everyone (but she does still get a little mixed up sometimes). She can stand up for a couple minutes at a time now, and the nurses even had her walking on her walker yesteday! She has another doctor's appointment on the 28th. We're going to find out if the tumors are still there, and she's going to have her third hormone treatment (to strengthen her bones). She's doing a lot better for the moment. She still has a long way to go.

Our baby will be here in 2-4 weeks. Wow! We're soooo unprepared for it! We don't have a house (but we're getting close, I think). We've got to figure out a way to make this tiny bedroom big enough for three people. We've got to pack some clothes, and stuff. We've got to get his bed ready, etc... It's weird, because time has stood still for us ever since the fire. But, Brandon is not waiting. He's almost here.

Cruel Music is still running smoothly. There was a new WDN cd completed on December 30th. Do you have your copy yet? I've been digitally re-mastering some old, classic, crappy cassette tapes since then. I think "break time" is almost over, and it's about time to start on some new material. A concept album is up next... Big, mean, serious stuff... Ever since 2006, I've tried to do at least one Cruel Music release per month. I don't know if I'll keep that tradition for 2010, or not. I'm kinda leaning more toward taking my time with this concept album, and when it's done then it'll be done... That type of thing... But, then, that kinda scares me at the same time. What if I get lazy, like I always did between 2001 and 2006? Yeah... I don't know... Expect some new Cruel Music sometime toward the end of the month. Heh heh. A new Ultapoop CD is coming soon, too, by the way. The whole fire thing kinda set me back on that stuff...

A lot is going on. Hope all is well your way, wherever you may be.
