Telescope: Night 1

We FINALLY got to put our Christmas telescope to use, last night! It was warm outside, and it wasn't very cloudly... Those two things have been stopping us for the last few months... I thought I'd start the festivities by aiming the telescope at the moon. You know, get everything focused, and alligned, and whatnot. What I saw was a bit of a surprise. I couldn't stop looking at the moon. It's been there forever, but it was like I was seeing it for the first time... Which I kinda was, I guess. I kept telling Denise to look at it, but I wouldn't let her have the telescope. Heh heh. We got to see it with a lot of clarity, and stuff. It was awesome, dude! I wanted to run out to all the neighbors' houses, and say, "Hey, come and look at the moon!!!" Yeah... As previously noted, I SUCH a nerd! 8) So, yeah, here's kinda how it looked to us, last night, only better:

We also caught a glance of the infamous "Wobble" UFO. It was coming up from the mountain, and we could kinda see it through the trees. I think the light from the moon was making the "Wobble" appear dim, or something, because it didn't look like it usually does. Anyway, we got to see the green, yellow, and red colors through the telescope... But, almost as soon as we got focused on it, some clouds (or fog?) covered the sky, and blocked our view.

Last Day Of Freedom

Gotta go back to work tomorrow. Gotta go back to being a good, little puppet. A good sheep. Taking orders left and right, and pretending to enjoy it. Trying very hard to keep the fact that I'm seriously underpaid out of my mind the whole time I'm taking these orders. Still looking for a new job, but not having a whole lot of luck...

I don't usually do this sort of thing, but I'm kinda pissed about it, so I think it's my civic duty to spread the word. Do not... I repeat, DO NOT BUY WINDOWS VISTA!!! It's a waste of money. You have to have a ridiculous amount of RAM just to run the stupid thing. It takes about 5 minutes for your computer to boot up whenever you're using Windows Vista. You get an endless amount of stupid prompts, such as, "You clicked Internet Explorer. Would you like to continue on to the internet now?" Your printer will not work with Windows Vista. I don't know what kind of printer you have, but count on it, your printer will not work with Windows Vista. The desktop icons are huge, and kinda scary looking. I could go on and on, but I HAVE TO GO BACK TO WORK TOMORROW. So, in closing, please, do yourself a favor: Don't buy Windows Vista. Just stick with Windows XP.

What did I accomplish on my 8 days off? Some stuff, I guess, but nothing was actually completed. We saw a movie... "Premonition." Good movie, but incomplete, because it was so confusing. I started painting the deck, but ran out of paint... Then, saw that paint was $16 a gallon, and got too depressed to finish painting, because I can't afford a $16 gallon of paint. I recorded some stuff, but since I have Windows Vista, I can't get my music on to the computer!!! We tried to look at stars with the Christmas telescope, last night, but it got cloudy as soon as we got outside, and we didn't even get to see anything! It was a fun vacation, though... Don't get me wrong. I filmed Chicken George walking around in front of our house. We made Tommy and Ozzy fight. And, I showed my baby girl what a "crawl dad" is. Filmed that too, actually. I was kinda hoping it'd pinch Ozzy's nose, but it was afraid of him, I guess...

In The Studio?!

This could turn out to be a fairly productive vacation, after all... I "fixed" the 4-track recorder today! It needed new batteries! Heh heh. While I was playing around with the recorder, I kinda, sorta, accidentally erased a couple tracks from the November 2005 sessions. Bummer. Antiseptic Anxiety's "Sugar On The Table" and The Beatles cover-song, "Norwegian Wood" are gone. I re-recorded "Norwegian Wood" today, but, sadly, "Sugar On The Table" is lost forever. The magic of that November recording session could never be captured again... Actually, I listened to the song a couple times before I accidentally erased it, and it wasn't all that good, to tell you the truth... November 2005?! Man, that's crazy! That's a huge gap in the recording process! My original plan, according to THE BLOG, was to record two new Cruel Music albums at the same time. One, of course, was to be from Antiseptic Anxiety, the goofy band with my aunt "10," and the other was something of a Cruel Connection-like album, with cover songs and stuff... So, I guess I'll revert back to that original gameplan... Later this week. =)

UFO

I mentioned UFOs, a couple days ago. This is what I saw in April 1995. My angel baby saw the same thing once in Ohio, so we kinda shared a sighting... Kinda. It was really low-flying, and really slow for both of us.

Tinkering

Been kinda tinkering around with the 'site throughout most of the day. You'll notice some new links on the sidebar of the blog page. Most notably, a link to the "Profiles" page. This is an old page in the Cruel Music site that I built back around 2003, but I "modernized" it today. It's fully updated now, complete with matching 2007 Cruel Music theme colors and pictures. So, if you've been wondering, "Who the crap are these 'Famous People,' Junebug?" then you'll definitely wanna take a gander at that page.

Speaking of "Famous People," Baby Girl was introduced to "Clown Woman," today... I've got to add Clown Woman to the profile page sometime, but not tonight, because it's late, and I'm sleepy... But, just as a brief intro, there's a woman around town that dresses up like some sort of clown, gypsy-woman. We saw her at Walmart, tonight. Here's a little sketch I did of her in 2003, so you'll have an idea of what I mean:

...She had a slightly different, but equally goofy, new hairstyle tonight, with some sort of Christmas decorations hanging from her hair, but you get the picture, right?

One more thing... Speaking of pictures... I'll be putting those "artist-rendering"-style pictures of the famous people up on the profile page soon, too...

Timeout

I'm officially on vacation now! I didn't even know it until yesterday evening. My boss is actually letting me take my vacation! I get to be lazy until next Saturday. Good stuff! I was planning to record some tunes this week, but since the 4-track recorder is toast, I don't see that happening now. So, what am I going to do, exactly? Kinda looks like I'll be doing everything except for being lazy, actually. I need to paint the deck, plant the garden, get the car fixed (yes, from when that dumb woman at work hit my car on Thanksgiving...), and I need to get a new tire on the car... One of 'em keeps going flat on me. I'm hoping the $3,000 extended warranty will cover it... Why did I take an extended warranty in the first place, if it's not going to do me any good. Turns out I was kind dumb, back in 2004. I let the car salesman talk me in to getting a 75,000-mile extended warranty. Every time something goes wrong with the car I try to use my warranty privileges, and every time I try to use those privileges the shop always says, "Oh, I'm sorry, you're warranty does not cover that." Needless to say, I'm not going to get an extended warranty the next time I buy a car!

Anybody Know What This Thing Is?!

I've been seeing this in the skies above Chatty ever since 1993. It's always in the same spot, and it's there almost every single night. I saw it again, tonight, on my way home from work...

The red dots around it fade on and off in a weird, random sequence. The red, green, and blue lights inside flash. And the whole thing wobbles back and forth, from right to left. I used to think it was a UFO, but since it's always there it must be something else, huh? I dubbed it a "Wobble," or "Wobbling UFO," back in 1993... Some people think it's a satellite, but I don't know... I'd love to look at it with our telescope, but the mountain in front of our house is blocking it.

Famous Sightings

I saw Joyce Gail and her boyfriend on the way to work, today. Chicken George was in the grocery store, yesterday. And, Monday I saw Budweiser Man!!! Yesss!!! He's not missing anymore!!! I'm kinda thinking of making a page that details the whereabouts of all these famous people, so those of you who are not familiar with them can get to know them.

In other news, my boss sucks!!! I'm not getting my much-deserved vacation next week, after all. BUTT MONKEY!!!

What About Sue?

Speaking of "Famous People," I seem to have forgotten about one of the most famous people of them all... SUE THE PROSTITUTE!!! Yeah, I don't know what got in to me. I forgot about Sue the Prostitute! I've not seen her around for, like, 4 years, so it was easy to forget about her. I think she's been in jail, or something... But, now, SHE'S BAAAACK!!! I saw her a couple days ago, on my way to work, and I saw her again today at lunch time. For those of you not familiar with Sue the Prostitute, she is Jerry Lee (also a famous person, coincidentally enough)'s mom. She's about 70 years old. She did have gray hair, but since her return she's had dark brown hair. She walks the streets of Chatty, looking for love. I kid you not! It's extremely funny!

Beecher Lives!!!

Hey, oh yeah, I forgot! Me and my baby girl saw Beecher, the missing "famous person," Friday at Wal Mart. Forgot all about that, man! So, thanks for all the letters of concern for Beecher, and all, but he's okay. He's fine! I saw him again, today at lunch, as a matter of fact, on my way back to work.

Junebug... Live... In Concert!!!

Just had my second live performance for my baby girl. I played (and sung!!!) the same three songs that I did the first time, back around November, or something... "Knockin' On Heaven's Door," "Norweigan Wood," and "About A Girl." Very exciting stuff! DVD coming soon!

...This is the last of my three days off. Nice, little, mini vacation. Gotta go back to work in the morning... Sucks.

(Note: "Second live performance" means second time singing. Baby Girl hears me playing my guitar all the time. It's just a bit of a rarity that I sing... See, I kinda can't sing... I suck... Oh yeah, and that thing about the live DVD may not be entirely true...)

Meerkat Alert!

For my money, the best soap opera on TV is a show on Animal Planet, called "Meerkat Manor." Have you ever watched this show? It's about these 4 families of meerkats, the Whisker's, the Elizuli's, the Splinter's, and the Commando's. Every weeks they go on these neat little adventures. Sometimes the families fight with each other over their territory, or their women, or their kids. Very addictive! Check it out!

Firsts

So, as you know, I'm in love for the first time in my life, we bought our first house, I have my first studio, etc. Last night, another historic first: Our first thunderstorm in our new house!!! Yeah, the weather finally got better, yesterday. Nice 60-degree temperatures. It's supposed to be like that for the next 7 days, according to our 7-day forecast on the Weather Channel. Vacation time is coming up! I'm taking a vacation on March 11. Did I mention that already? Well, yeah, I'm going to take a vacation, and make lots of music, and fun, and stuff... Cut my ring finger at work tonight, too. Heh heh.

Famous (Dead) Person

I heard something strange at work, today. One of Cruel Music's "Famous People" has died. Miller, of "Chicken George and Miller" fame, died one day last week. Chicken George ran in the house, and woke up a sleeping, drunken Miller, and said, "The house is on fire, you've gotta get outta here!" Miller, reportedly, said, "Get out of here, and leave me alone. I'm trying to sleep." So, Chicken George left... Left his brother in the house to be burned alive! Weird, huh? I saw Chicken George in the grocery store, Saturday. I thought it was a bit strange to see him alone, because Miller always followed behind him...

In related news, I saw Joyce Gail at the Post Office, Saturday. Heh heh. That Old Drunk Man, and his boyfried were spotted walking down the road a couple weeks ago, too. And, I saw "Jerry Wee," and Joyce Gail's boyfriend about a week ago. Famous People are taking over!!!

I'm really missing that global warming thing, man! I got so used to not having snow in the winter! I hate winter now! It's been freezing BRRRR here for, like, the last month now. Last week's snow finally melted off yesterday, when the temperature finally got back up to 60 degrees, where it "belongs." It rained, and stuff... Then, today, we wake up, and there's more snow! It's only about an inch deep this time, but it's just the thought of snow that makes me angry...

Oh, and speaking of angry... I was EXTREMELY angry, yesterday. Remember that four-track recorder, that I bought back in October 2005? The CD recorder that was going to revolutionize Cruel Music? Well... I never really got around to using it, because I couldn't figure out how to get my music from the recorder on to the computer. So, now, I have a studio at our cool new house, and I have a reason to actually use that 4-track recorder, and... IT WON'T WORK!!!! I don't know what happened. I plugged it up, and nothing happened! So, there goes 200 bucks, or whatever it was, down the drain!

But, today is better. Surprised my baby with some roses and a teddy bear for Valentine's Day, this morning. I used to really hate Valentine's Day. One of the most depressing days of the year. But, now, my least favorite holiday is, suddenly, a very cool holiday!

Sunday, February 11, 2007

Wow, he had his eyes open once! Heh heh.

Thursday, February 08, 2007

It's kinda like when I was a kid... It'd snow in November, and it wouldn't melt off until April. Over the last few years, we've just been getting, like, an inch or two of snow, and it'd melt off the very next day. Well, that big, huge, 4-inch snow that we got, the other day, is still here! It's amazing! The stuff just won't melt! Heh heh. I still don't get it... A couple weeks ago, it was 70 degrees outside, and flowers were blooming, and trees were getting green, and everything. I crap you not...

Wednesday, February 07, 2007

Big snow storm, man! We got about 4 inches of snow, last night. It's the most snow we've had in about 5 or 6 years. That whole global warming thing kinda killed snow for this part of the country. So now I'm late for work. Supposed to work from 12-9 today, but I'm stranded right now. Maybe it'll melt in a little while, so I can go. It'd be cool if it doesn't melt, though, and I could just stay here with my Angel Baby all day.

Still kinda changing the blog. I stuck a media player on here, yesterday. So that's pretty neat. My Angel Baby introduced it to me, and I've been playing with it ever since.
